'Jeugdstorm', like 'Jongens die een vlag kunnen dragen' (by Jos Jacobs and Leo Uten from the same year), is a propaganda piece from the Catholic Chiro youth movement. The driving force behind this amateur project was Gust Geens, a Chiro leader and filmmaker from the Boechout-based film club Argos Films. A collaboration between the members of the amateur film club and the local Chiro group formed the foundation of this moralizing work, a celebration of family values and the ideals of the Catholic youth movement. Based on the adventurous youth novel Het lied van de Donau by Jesuit Father Franz Weiser, the film follows the conflict and eventual reconciliation between two Chiro boys from different social backgrounds. Jeugdstorm was filmed shortly after the war with limited resources. The movie was shot without sound and included intertitles. During screenings, 78-rpm gramophone records were played to enhance the atmosphere of the film O filme está no YouCine por 8 créditos e entra na sua sessão para sempre: você escolhe quando assistir, revê quando quiser, sem assinatura.
